Sleepin' like a baby

Today has gone better than expected. MC had a long night's sleep and woke feeling well enough to munch down a healthy breakfast and drink a few cups of liquid (she needs to consume a gallon/day of clear liquids the day of chemo and for 2 to 3 days following in order to flush the drugs out of her system). The headaches and nausea are being kept in check and she's looking like her old rosey self, having been a bit pallid last night. (I snuck into her bedroom and took this photo this afternoon. Doesn't she look like a little elf? She'll probably make me take it down when she awakes).

Contrary to round 1, MC will recieve her growth hormone shot over several days instead of one big dose the day after infusion. Dr. Riggs suggested this approach to alleviate the severe bone pain mom experienced the first go round. Since MC's white blood cell count was so high, we won't begin the shots until Monday, and then every other day thereafter for a week and half. I'm off to bring the sleeping princess some tea. More later....

Hi Mary Carol, Oh the joys of three wonderful daughters! We've always shared that and now this crummy disease and the assurance of being able to endure and survive. Sending confidence and love your way. Mary Gene

Growth hormone? Guess there'll be no pro sports for you. You'll just have to stomp grapes, Lucy.
