Wow what a lovely thing just happened to me. My husband is taking me to St. Croix for a few days and we leave on Wednesday. I'm not taking the juicer or all the supplements. just going to lie on the beach, snorkel and rent a little sail boat for an afternoon. I'm looking forward to just clearing my mind for a few days. Love to all, MC

Hi Mary Carol! I have been asking about you and finally got this blog from Doug last night at the Sunset Pointe social.

Lyle and I walked during the Relay for Life after the social and I contributed money for cancer research and had 8 luminary bags made up...one for you, Chuck Deering and Dave Nelson...all neighbors.

It was wonderful to see the bags and the candles reflected your name and the others as we walked late last night.

Looking forward to more updates and about your wonderful time away.

The 3rd MRI results are in. The cancer is gone. You heard me. Packed up and left. Flew the coop. Tell it while you're walkin'. According to the radiologist and Dr. O'Malley, "there's no evidence of cancer." A PET scan will be done this Friday to confirm results of the MRI. While MC will still need proton radiation to ensure that no individual cancer cells remain, there will be no anterior craniotomies happenin' in this here family. Instead, MC will have outpatient endoscopic sinus surgery to take a few biopsies for safe measure and clean out her sinuses which, unrelated to the SNUC, have been clogged for years. More to come from the superhero herself......

Finally, a decision

Hi, I'm back from the perfect vacation at the perfect time. I enjoyed the sun, the beach, kayaking, and never gave a thought to the other. Good thing, because when I got home and saw the Dr. at Penn, he of course identified the next step as radiation and chemo. When I asked if instead of doing that he would be willing to "follow me" - after all he can take a little scope and go up and look around quite easily - he said that he would, but would prefer that i have more surgery to remove the dura separating the sinus from the brain, go up and sample the brain and build a new dura. Then he would watch me monthly. After much hemming, hawing, talking with friends who have had cancer, a cancer coach, and an alternative cancer specialist, I have decided to go ahead with the proton radiation and cisplatin chemo for a 6 week period in Florida.
