Still in the Clear!

It's, wow, May 17, 2010 and MC is still in the clear. She has PET scans every six months and as of her latest one she's good as new! See that baby skin?

To prove it, here's a photo.

This is MC at my house on our slack line. Our friend, Patrick from Belgium, was visiting and spoke of his friends who could land flips on them. Thinking it'd be fun for all of us and improve our balance and core strength, I bought one and anchored it between two big trees in our yard.

Let me tell you, it's hard! I've watched some Slack Line Yogis (search "slackline" on google) and they make it look simple to do a balance pose on it. I can barely stand on it but for a few seconds.

So, here's my mother...on the slack line...holding on to the branches of the black walnut...and screaming, "COME GET ME! COME GET ME! COME GET ME!".

I was way too busy laughing and taking this photo to respond. After all, the only thing she needed to do was to let go of the branches and jump the 2 feet to the ground.

To think - MC's beaten one of the rarest, most invasive and aggressive cancers known - with strength and grace - but she completely panics on a slack line.

That's why I didn't put down the camera to save her. A two foot jump off of a slack line into the grass? Mom can handle it.

well actually now it is july 28, 2013 As of last May all of my tests remain clear. But you know they talk about a 5 year cure. No such thing. Many cells remain after treatment and can take up residence in other organs at five years. So we'll just wait and see, keep vigilant and not get complacent. I feel and act well and am extremely grateful for any and all days. MC
